Disney/Pixar has released the trailer for The Incredibles 2, and the story picks up where the 2014 film ended, with the Parr family still tackling life changes amid their newfound superhero powers.

"It's time to get back to being Incredible," reads the tagline for the animated film. The preview contains massive action sequences and a few gags, as the family maneuvers challenges as superheroes and as regular people with regular problems.

Elastigirl

The focus of the trailer though is the matriarch of the family, Helen a.k.a. Elastigirl. She embarks on a new job in The Incredibles 2 as the new face of superheroes. Winston Deavor, voiced by Bob Odenkirk, has handpicked her for a mission to bring the superheroes back into the light.

"It's time to make some wrong things right. Help me bring supers back into the sunlight. We need to change people's perceptions about superheroes, and Elastigirl is our best play," the superhero enthusiast tells Helen.

Bob a.k.a. Mr. Incredible, raises his eyebrows and asks, "Better than me?"

The Incredibles 2 trailer then cuts to the family moving to a new house as a perk of Elastigirl's new job. While she performs the role of a superhero for the city, Bob, on the other hand, is delegated to house duty. He is left to look after the kids, and he is not doing a very good job so far.

Mr. Not-So-Incredible

Bob attempts to help out his son Dash with his math homework but ends up getting frustrated when told not to solve problems his own way. Dash tells him to follow the instructions from his book. He also has to deal with Violet, who has turned into an angsty teenager.

If his problems were not enough already, he has to contain Jack-Jack who has managed to develop a range of superpowers. The toddler can fire laser beams from his eyes, spit fire, and turn invisible. Thankfully, the cookies do wonders in luring him back. Regardless of all the household problems, Bob tells Elastigirl that everything is fine.

Meanwhile, Elastigirl has her own superhero problems to tackle. There is a new villain in the city who hypnotizes anyone who watches TV. She also becomes disheartened with her situation and vents out to Bob about having to leave her family so she can help them and break the law in order to fix it. Eventually, the family teams up together to defeat a masked villain and help save the world.

The Incredibles 2 opens in theaters on June 15. Helen Hunt returns to voice Elastigirl and Craig T. Nelson as Bob. Samuel Jackson is back as Frozone.
