If you ask Kim Kardashian West, she was destined to be on TV. The celebrity revealed she wanted to star in a popular reality series.

Kim On MTV?

It turns out, Kardashian attempted to hatch a plan to get a spot on MTV’s The Real World before she got her start on E!’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians back in 2007. She revealed during an interview with Business of Fashion that her ultimate goal in life was to be on the first MTV reality show that featured a group of strangers living in a home together.

“I would say to my best friend’s dad who was a manager, ‘You should be my manager! And when we’re 18, I’m going to send a tape into 'The Real World' because I have to be on a reality show,'” Kardashian said.

She added that she had been working in her now late father, Rob Kardashian Sr.'s law office but didn't feel fulfilled in her career. She revealed that while she went to college for four years, she never earned a college degree.

While she once appeared on her former friend Paris Hilton's reality show Simple Life and E!'s Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive in 2005, Kardashian’s life took a different route. Instead of being an MTV star, she and her family scored a show of their own when they landed Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which is now one of the longest-running reality shows. Kardashian opened up about how that path was fateful in more ways than one.

“The producers [of] The Real World produced my show, so it kind of all came full circle,” said Kardashian.

Destined To Be Famous

Whether it was her own show or being a cast member, it’s safe to say Kardashian knew she was going to be famous. She said now she works harder than ever; even more than the early days of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, when she thought she was putting in extra work. The mom of three and wife of iconic rapper Kanye West said she has an altered work ethic now thanks to being in a completely different place in her life from she where was when she first started out in front of the camera.

“Now, I feel like just juggling a relationship, kids, being a mom, work, is just a different kind of experience,” added Kardashian.

It’s safe to say fans and viewers saw much more of Kardashian’s life on the E! series than they would have seen on The Real World. From her relationships with former flames to tying the knot with West and giving birth to her first two children and going the surrogacy route for the youngest, Kardashian’s major life moments have happened on television.
