Hailey Baldwin is opening up about her current relationship situation. In a new interview, the model set the record straight about all the circulating rumors.
They're Just Friends...Now
Baldwin sat down with The Times in the UK to discuss her jet-setting life, her famous family, her faith, and everything in between.
Fans, of course, will be most excited about the questions about Baldwin's current romantic status.
Before that, though, Baldwin set the record straight about those pesky Justin Bieber stories.
The two were linked as a couple a few years back, and the model alluded to some weirdness between the long-time friends that has, thankfully, dissipated since they called time on their sort-of relationship.
"Justin and I were friends for a long time. I met him when I was really young and he was one of my best friends. Everybody knows that at a certain point in time that turned into something else," explained the 21-year-old.
Baldwin confessed that after the romantic side of their relationship fell apart, the two didn't speak for a while.
"We went through a long period of time when we weren't friends. ... There was a lot of weirdness that went on," she admitted.
Thankfully, though, the two have moved past that after some time.
Thankful For The Lesson
Bank in 2014, rumors about Bieber and Baldwin circulated. They denied anything was going on, even after being spotted on holiday together. The two were also caught kissing at a New Year's Eve party.
The model told E! News that they weren't exclusive, while Bieber informed GQ that he didn't want to rush things with her. The "Sorry" singer worried he might hurt Baldwin down the line, and ruin their relationship forever.
Although Baldwin admitted in the Times interview that being part of a celebrity relationship was weird, she appreciated how it helped the two of them realize they were better off as friends.
Now, they can treat each other well and be there for each other as BFFs rather than worrying about complicating matters with feelings.
Nothing To See Here Either
Most recently, Baldwin sparked relationship rumors with Canadian crooner Shawn Mendes after the two appeared on the Met Gala red carpet together.
Mendes told PEOPLE they're just friends, though. Baldwin further confirmed they're not a couple by reassuring The Times interviewer that she's 100 percent single.
"We hang out and he's super-lovely and a very, very nice young gentleman. But I am single," she said.
Baldwin lamented how few good men there are out there, but she remains optimistic about finding someone who shares her values. The model even wants to settle down and have babies sooner rather than later.
