Simone Biles broke the all-time record for most medals by any gymnast on Sunday at the World Championships at Stuttgart, Germany.

The 22-year-old Biles took two gold medals on Sunday in the balance beam and floor exercises competition. It brought her medal tally to 25, 19 of which are gold.

"I can't be more thrilled with the performance that I put out at this World Championships. I'm not a number person," Biles said of medal record.

Before the final day on Sunday, Biles tied the most medal haul in world championship history when she bagged her 23rd medal in the vault finals. It put her on equal footing with Vitaly Scherbo of Belarus, who had 23 medals -- 12 golds, seven silvers and four bronzes.

A Point to Prove

Biles finished with a bronze medal in the balanced beam competition of the 2016 Rio Olympics. With that said, she arrived in Germany looking to restore her glory.

And she did just that. She set out to win and win she did.

Biles scored a 15.066 after a near-flawless routine in the balance beam, choosing for a plainer dismount than the double-double she did earlier. When her score was broadcasted -- assuring the medal record -- she leaped up from her seat with a wide smile and punched the air.

Teammate Sunisa Lee also joined Biles on the floor stage during Sunday's finals.

The 16-year-old athlete took silver, complementing her uneven bars bronze on Saturday. Lee is the second-best US gymnast just behind Biles for 2019, a breakout year after joining just her third junior nationals in 2018.

Lee, in an interview, said: "I'm second in the world after Simon Biles, and she's obviously so amazing. And to be second is super crazy. I don't know how she's been doing this for so long."

Biles' Laurels

Simone Biles won four gold Olympics medals to add to her 19 gold, three silver and three bronzes World Championships medals. She also boasts two gold Pacific Rim Championships, as well as two gold and one silver FIG All-Around World Cup Medals.

She is the first gymnast to earn five gold medals at a single Worlds since 1958. Now, for the first time in 30 years, the most recognizable US athlete in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics will be a gymnast

There were talks that Biles was trying to become just the second woman to earn five golds at a single game, the other was 1988 East German swimmer Kristin Otto.

A stronger come-back

Biles took 2017 off to pursue other things. She joined the 24th season of "Dancing with the Stars" and co-wrote her autobiography entitled "Courage to Soar: A Body in Motion, A Life in Balance."

It was well-documented that the athlete became stronger than ever with that well-deserved break. Biles was able to introduce new skills on the balance beam, vault and floor exercise.

Now, it is expected that Biles' mom will be throwing her usual post-worlds party. In the past, she has included a DJ and a bartender.
