Since Meghan Markle met Prince Harry some three years ago, the low bun has been a part of her personal hairstyle. Though sometimes she puts in more effort to make it look sleek and shiny, she's often caught with those tendrils falling to the sides achieving that laidback look to a royal.

On Thursday, Meghan Markle attended the One Young World Summit at Windsor Castle in a simple maroon sweater, Hugo Boss leather skirt, Sarah Flint suede pumps. She completed the ensemble with a Jackie O-style volume of a bun.

Meghan champions gender equality

The event was a roundtable discussion on gender equality. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived at the event in Prince Harry's electric Audi E-Tron. According to the reports of the Daily Mail, Meghan thanked her husband for coming with her to the event. She also expressed her gratitude to the other members of the panel for allowing him to "crash" the party.

She believes that she cannot talk about gender equality without having her husband around to listen. She believes that to be able to champion gender equality, women will have to start up a conversation about it and involve the men. Meghan said that his presence in the event made complete sense after all.

Do the royals live a laid back life behind the cameras?

When Markle arrived at the roundtable discussion on gender equality with her husband in tow, many were amazed at how laid back she looks. Meghan was seen with her hair pulled back in a bun. In her usual style, the Duchess of Sussex had that refined royal look, but with a few perfectly curled pieces falling to frame her face.

The loose bangs gave her the touch of ease that was necessary to lighten the mood. The talk about gender equality also tackled domestic violence and unfair opportunities presented to men and women. Markle's updo perfectly struck a balance between a formal event and the ease of a woman is doing what she does best -- advocate for their rights.

Did Markle just perfect her royal look?

It makes perfect sense for Meghan to perfect that low messy bun look. She has been sporting it since her days in the Hollywood limelight. In fact, she has been wearing it ever so often that it has been included in Meghan's catalogue of hairstyles.

Over time, Meghan can be seen working on refining the look. She has been seen in some formal events to still be wearing the bun, only tighter and a bit more structured. However, her everyday look as the Duchess of Sussex includes voluminous and a few loose wispy strands of hair hanging on her face.

Sometimes, she goes for the low loop bubble bun. On some days, she would opt for the classic donut bun. The great news is that anyone can recreate that style whether it is for casual or formal occasions. The secret to looking elegantly royal is feeling good about that laid back bun in style.
