Justin Bieber has heard Selena Gomez's latest single, and he wasn't surprised by it.

Gomez recently released a new single entitled "Lose You To Love Me." While it was met with thunderous reception for her fans, some can't help but speculate that it's her breakup song for Bieber.

Obviously, Bieber -- now married to Hailey Baldwin -- was on the receiving end of some unsoilicted publicity. However, instead of being surprised, he expected something like this to come sooner or later. After all, he knew Selena too well.

In an exclusive discussion with HollywoodLife, a source exposed that the "One Less Lonely Girl" singer knew that a song about him was coming, and he was prepared for it. The source added that it has always been an act of Gomez to have her songs be inspired by her past relationship, though Bieber has already moved on and no longer cares about it.

In addition, Bieber expressed his respect for Selena and her decision to release the songs. With this though, it sure seems Bieber does not want to dwell on in the past anymore and just wants to focus on his married life with Baldwin now.

Not Ideal for Justin

Entertainment News confirmed that Justin and Hailey listened to the songs already and remained quiet since "the situation was not ideal for Baldwin." Despite this, however, they tried to see things positively and referred to the songs as Gomez's way to share her art with her fans.

In an interview on the Zach Sang Show last week, Gomez confirmed that the song was about Bieber, and she wanted him to listen to it. She said that it was her way to deliver what she has been wanting to tell the Canadian singer-songwriter, though she emphasized her intentions were pure.

"My intentions can be a bit snappy but I always want to come from a place that's genuine, and when I feel like some things haven't been said, then, I get to turn things into art," Selena clarified.

Gomez Defends Hailey

Right after Gomez released her single, a drama ensued as Baldwin seemingly threatened Selena with a subtle Instagram story post. Baldwin-Bieber has since denied that the post was a direct attack to Gomez and asked fans to stop with the nonsense.

After the situation became worse over the hours, Gomez finally asked her fans not to cause harm to Baldwin-Bieber, saying that "she does not stand for women tearing women down."

On her Instagram Live, she gave her fans a note, telling them to be kind to everyone.

"It doesn't matter what the situation is. If you're my fans, don't be rude to anybody, please," Gomez continued.

Gomez also posted a screenshot of a note on her Twitter account, sharing a faith-filled message to everyone. Again, the fans theorized that it was the singer's indirect response to Baldwin's indirect threat. On the note, she said that no one can take her down.

"See the enemy keeps trying to tear me down and it's not gonna happen. Not today. Not the next," Gomez went on.
