The Queen had a secret wish she confided in her longtime aide and royal dressmaker Angela Kelly. For once, she wants to pose informally for a photo.

Queen Elizabeth II has always been formal in all the occasions she is seen in public. However, it's her secret wish to show off her less formal side.

The 93-year old head of the monarch was all smiles in the newly released photo from the palace. In the picture, she can be seen smiling for the camera with her hands in her pockets. Hello! Magazine released the undated photo as part of the promotion of the royal dressmaker's new book.

Angela Kelly shared a lot of royal secrets in her new book entitled "The Other Side Of The Coin: The Queen, The Dresser, and The Wardrobe." The new image shows a stark contrast to the Queen's typically serious portraits. Nonetheless, the picture gained mixed reactions, and some people say that it should never have happened.

Queen Elizabeth II, as Kelly revealed on PEOPLE, had one of those "secret wishes." She wanted to be photographed in a rather informal manner, but the palace aides would often advise against it.

However, while Kelly was working on her book, she asked the Queen if she wanted to model the dress with her hands inside her pockets.

The Queen looked at her with excitement, so she asked her if she understood the implications of the photograph. She was quick to reply, "Yes."

Kelly revealed that the Queen didn't take long to answer, and she emphasized that the head of the Firm wanted to do it. "Yes, she was sure."

Barry Jeffery was the photographer who was tasked to do the job. However, the Queen cut him off as soon as he started to talk about how the shoot would go about. He confessed that within minutes into the shoot, the Queen respectfully raised her hand that signalled Barry to stop talking.

Queen Elizabeth II then directed Barry how she wanted to go about the shoot. She simply told him, "Just keep the camera rolling." That was how the shoot happened.

Her majesty then started to position herself in front of the camera with a series of striking poses. She slipped her hand in and out of the pockets and put them on her hips. She was even caught on camera trying to mimic poses from professional models!

Kelly recalled and said that the Queen was a "natural."

Unfortunately, all the other candid photographs of the queen with an ear-to-ear smile are not immediately released, following the advice from the Royal Collection.

In their opinion, the candid photos would bring the monarchy down. That's why it shouldn't be suitable for the public to see.

Twitter users, on the other hand, think otherwise. They think, for the first time, the Queen is relatable.
