Sofia Loren, one of the most popular Italian actresses to date, will make her comeback to the big screen for the film La voce humana (The Human Voice) directed by her son Edoardo Ponti.

The 78-year-old actress, who became one of the most famous actresses in the world in the 1960's, will have a starring role in the movie which is based on a play by French poet and writer Jean Cocteau, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

According to the report, shooting will start this month and is expected to take three weeks. The movie will be set in the Italian cities of Rome, Naples and Ostia.

The last time Loren starred in a film was in 2004 when she appeared in the movie Peperoni ripieni e pesci in faccia (Too Much Romance...It's time for Stuffed Peppers.) The actress who was known for her curvaceous figure.
