Scarlett Johansson took on a new look for her role in Chef.

Donning dark hair and tattoos, The Avengers star was seen Wednesday wearing different outfits on the movie set in Los Angeles. Photographers show her wearing a tight black dress for one shot, and ripped shorts and a tank for another scene. She also sports a wavy brunette wig with bangs and tiny star tattoos, one on each shoulder.

While the star tattoos may be temporary, the 28-year-old actress does have real tattoos on her body. Around her wrist is a rosary bead charm with the words "I Heart NY."  She also has two circles interlaced with the letter A on her ankle and a colored tattoo of the sun rising on her arm. Her most recent one is a horseshoe with the words "Lucky You" on her rib-cage, which she got done in November 2012.

Johansson stars in Chef alongside an all-star cast that includes Sofia Vergara, Robert Downey Jr. and Dustin Hoffman. Directed by Iron Man star Jon Favreau, the film is about a chef (Favreau) who loses his restaurant job and ends up launching a food truck business all while piecing back together his estranged family.

"This is a very exciting project with a fantastic script and a truly incredible group of actors," Tom Ortenberg, CEO of Open Road Films, wrote in a statement. "We are thrilled to be in business again with Aldamisa [Entertainment] and to add this project to our 2014 slate."
