It's not 'official offical' yet, but Variety reported it, so it's pretty official: The Academy Awards have finally chosen the hosts for this year's awards show, and they've decided to girlboss it up with three female comedic powerhouses: Wanda Sykes, Regina Hall, and Amy Schumer.

Originally, the producer for this year's show - Will Packer, one of the minds behind the hilarious movie Girls' Trip - was toying with the idea of a three-act structure for the Oscars, with a different comedic duo coming on for each act. He met with several celebrities as part of the effort, including John Hamm, but it seems these three offered the perfect formula for whatever vibes Packer is going for.

Regina Hall has close ties with Packer, as she starred in Girls' Trip, so it's no surprise that her comedic talents found her way onto the Oscars stage. She got her big break in the horror parody Scary Movie films, and later became the first Black woman to win the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actress. Hall may be great at comedy, but she has a lot of range with her acting that will come in handy when she's next to the other two hosts.

Wanda Sykes is a respected comedian who's been doing comedy for decades - her first onstage appearance was in 1987. Since then, she's been the dry, witty commentator that the world needed, appearing in in everything from sitcoms (like Black-ish) to movies (like Bad Moms) to kids' cartoons (like Over The Hedge) to her own comedy show. Sykes tells it like it is and doesn't sugarcoat things - which is exactly what we need after the year we've had.

Amy Schumer is also a funny lady, beginning her own standup career in 2004. She got her big break after one of her routines at the Gotham Comedy club was featured on Comedy Central, and since then her career has been on a rocket upward: You probably remember her film Trainwreck from 2015, or her more recent quarantine show Amy Schumer Learns to Cook, on the Food Network. She also tends to be very 'real,' but in more of a "I'm making mistakes and I know it" kinda way that will play well with younger (read: Millennial) viewers.

Schumer has already been hinting about the big news on her Instagram, with a climactic-looking photo collage that promises "Big fun news comin'."

The three stars will have to get to work on their material pretty soon, as we're only a week and a half from the one month countdown mark. The 2022 Academy Awards will take place on March 27.
