Kristen Stewart attempted to induce vomiting before and while filming "Spencer," in the bid to portray Princess Diana's bulimia right. She could not do it and it frustrated her, but kudos to her dedication to her role. It's the reason why she was highly praised for her performance.

Stewart, 31, went to great measures in her critically praised film "Spencer" to depict the late Princess Diana. The Oscar nominee confessed in February 17's Vanity Fair's 2022 Hollywood Issue that she attempted purging to prepare for a scene portraying Diana's arduous struggle with bulimia. "I wanted to make sure that was not glossed over," Kristen told the outlet.

Stewart's attractiveness for years rested on her cold demeanor, on the mumbled, angsty persona she presented in Twilight and honed over time. There have always been those who think she is one of the generation's finest female performers, and that attitude is growing.

Previously, she attempted to memorize lines as near to filming as possible, allowing the words to remain fresher. The Ram Dass school of acting teaches that one must be present in the moment and she's been doing it.

Stewart, on the other hand, had to forego all of that in order to play Diana, a role that took months of research and accent training. Larran had unflinching trust in her though, which prompted her to work harder." He was always like, 'If you wanted it to be, it could be as good as A Woman Under the Influence!' "

To really portray the role as well as she did, the actress said she started channeling Diana's loneliness. "One of the remarkable things is that she was so friendless," she says, saddened. "I'm constantly going, 'Where was your fucking homie?'," she said.

The actress stated that she would "do everything" to nail the emotionally charged moment, which was directed by Pablo Larran and depicts Diana having a nightmare about choking on her own necklace during a royal meal.

"I had bulimia for a number of years, and that's like a secret disease," the princess said then, as reported by Vogue. "You inflict it upon yourself because your self-esteem is at a low ebb, and you don't think you're worthy or valuable." Diana, who tragically passed away in Paris two years after that interview, also revealed that this was a secret she kept hard from her friends and family.

Kristen's acting in Spencer has garnered critical acclaim. She was even nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress in 2022.

Previously, the Twilight actress stated that she began training on her British accent months before filming began."The accent is intimidating as all hell because people know that voice, and it's so, so distinct and particular," she said in an October 2020 interview with InStyle. "I'm working on it now and already have my dialect coach."

Spencer is inspired by three days in the princess's life during which she faced the tough choice to divorce Prince Charles, played by Jack Farthing.
