Over the past week, numerous reports have circulated online about Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley's relationship, suggesting that the couple has already called off their engagement. However, the NFL star recently set the record straight as he hinted about their actual status in an interview.

In an appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show," the Green Bay Packers quarterback revealed he's been "thriving at home."

The athlete also referenced his football career, saying his two MVPs are not coincidences, saying he was telling "Shai," Woodley's nickname, that he's been with her for two seasons and received the coveted award twice, but it's not pure luck. (watch the interview below)

The reason behind why his career has been thriving, according to him, is that "when your home life is stable and you have an amazing partner to do life with, it just makes the work-life a bonus." (via Yahoo! Entertainment)

Rodgers then commended women, saying they deserve more credit when their playing partners are doing good in the field.

Over the last two seasons, the athlete noted that he feels great to have stability at home, and his teammates' wives are "rockstars" for sticking around with their partners.

He added, "when things are good in your personal life... it allows you to just relax and be so much more grateful, I think, for the little things in life."

The recent interview comes a day after Rodgers professed his love to Shailene Woodley on Instagram, saying he's thankful for the unconditional love he receives.

"Thanks for letting me chase after you the first couple months after we met, and finally letting me catch up to you and be a part of your life," he penned.

He concluded the paragraph dedicated to the actress by thanking her "incredible kindness" and saying he loves her.

Prior to the post, insiders spoke to Us Weekly Magazine, revealing the couple has been struggling with their relationship that led to their split.

Their engagement has been reportedly called off as both are busy with their respective careers- Woodley as an actress and her significant other as a football player.

The "Fault in our Stars" actress's friends also significantly contributed to the said breakup as they didn't think Rodgers was the best match for her.
