Tristan Thompson allegedly told Maralee Nichols during her pregnancy that he and Khloe Kardashian were 'engaged' and that they would 'be married shortly.' Since there are no reports of them ever being engaged, did he just lie to get out of his paternity predicament or was there a secret engagement, really?

There is a renewed interest in Tristan Thompson's paternity controversy. According to court records acquired by Us Weekly, Maralee Nichols, the mother of Tristan Thompson's third kid, is  said to have been informed that her baby daddy is already engaged with Khloe Kardashian.

Based on the text messages, while Maralee was lamenting the poor treatment of Tristan of her, the latter reportedly said he's already engaged and would be marrying soon. Tristan even had the gall to say she should not be chasing after an engaged man, and "keep a mistake."

It's not clear if by mistake, he meant their weird relationship or the innocent baby.

"You literally just told me you are engaged and are trying to be with your family.. I didn't even know you were engaged," Maralee reportedly wrote in one message. "You have a record of treating me like absolutely crap and this whole situation has been upsetting."

A few days later, allegedly Tristan responded, "I'm engaged but I will be married soon. I told you I won't and can't be in the child life at all by no means. Why not wait till yoj [sic] find the right person to have a family with. Why would you want a baby with a man that's engaged. You wanna keep a mistake."

There are reports that Tristan paid $2 million for Khloe Kardashian's engagement ring. Maralee also said she was given a heads up that the engagement and soon-to-take-place marriage would be announced quite soon.

"Just a heads up me and my fiancè [sic] gonna announce publicly about out [sic] marriage," Tristan allegedly wrote in the Snapchat messages. "Just a heads up. We probably moving out the country in September and live either in Europe or Caribbean. Better living for us and our family away from the bs of America," he added.

As of this writing, it's been about two months since Tristan Thompson confirmed that he and Maralee Nichols had a kid. This week, in an interview with Variety, Khloé talked out for the first time about the infidelity scandal and stated that she will address it in the Kardashians' forthcoming Hulu series.

She said she never had to talk about the whole scandal, but at the same time, it is a part of her journey in life so it has to be on the family's reality show in Hulu.
