Halle Berry made Lady Gaga and many other in the audience of the 2022 Critic's Choice Awards cry...and it was BEAUTIFUL.

At the Critics Choice Awards, Berry was honored with the #SeeHer Award. This award is given to a woman who advocates for gender equality and portarys realistic female character in a way that bolsters the gender. Upon receving the award, Berry gave an inspiring female-empowerment speech that, according to an article on People, left the musical superstar moved to tears.

Berry has had a phenomenal thirty year long career so far, but this award comes after she recently took on the role of lead and director in the movie Bruised. She shared during her acceptance speech:

"I realized that it wasn't written for someone that looked like me. So I went to the producers and I said, 'Why not me? Why can't it be a Black woman.' They said, 'Why not?'...He said, 'I have a hard time watching a woman get battered and beaten. It made me feel uncomfortable'...And, in that moment, I knew exactly why I had to tell this story. I knew exactly the power of the story, because I said, 'If you had a hard time, if it made you uncomfortable watching that story, imagine being that woman living that story?'"

Berry has spent the last year doing what she wants to do, telling complicated and truthful stories, and taking important and recognizable strides for women in Hollywood. She called out to women and girls everywhere to continue doing the same.

"If we deny our complexities, then we deny our humanity. We won't always be pretty, and we will never be perfect, but what we will be is always honest and true - no matter how uncomfortable that makes you. These are the stories we have to fight to tell, and these are the stories that the world needs to see. So, to every little girl who feels unseen and unheard, this is our way of saying to you: We love you and we see you, and you deserve every good thing in this world."
