Over more than two decades, "The View" has witnessed numerous panel members come and go because of personal issues and drama within the show. In a recent interview, one of the original hosts, Meredith Vieira, expressed her thoughts on her time on the program.

Speaking to the latest episode of E! News Daily Pop, the 68-year-old TV personality, who was a member of the panel from 1997 to 2006, said her co-hosts only liked each other "in the beginning."

She later clarified that she was joking as they all enjoyed their time with each other's company throughout her nine-year run on the ABC daytime show.

"We all liked each other through my whole time there. I had a great time, because we were on the ground floor building that thing up and it was an amazing experience," she added.

Vieira came back for the program's 25th anniversary to celebrate the milestone with the current hosts.

She said the people taking over the show today are "so lovely," and they greet her as if she never left.

After leaving the show, the TV personality has found success on her own as she's now a host of another daytime show, "25 Words or Less," and previously fronted "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire."

Speaking about the statement "you can't really go home again," it seems like Vieira is happy where she is right now and won't come back on "The View" permanently as she already had her experience there.

The host adds, "It was wonderful; it had its time and place in my life. And I'm glad that I'm in another chapter."

The Drama Surrounding 'The View's Previous Hosts

One of the most controversial hosts that graced "The View's" panel was Meghan McCain, who shocked the world when she decided to quit the program after four years.

According to Variety, the now-columnist is one of the previous co-hosts to leave on her own without getting fired.

One of the reasons why she left the show was because of her postpartum anxiety, as well as a statement from Joy Behar, saying she did not miss McCain when she was on maternity leave.

After a political debate, the host said in her memoir "Bad Republican" that she sobbed during the show's commercial and had a panic attack.

At that moment, she realized that her job became toxic for her and her family.
