Zoe Kravitz is feeling the heat from Will Smith's fans.

The star known for her work in The Batman and Kimi, spoke up, as did just about every other celebrity, person who watched the Oscars, person who didn't watch the Oscars, and all who remain, about the King Richard actor coming on stage to slap Chris Rock in the face after the comedian made a joke about the actor's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

Kravitz posted a picture of herself before the awards show wearing a beautiful blush pink dress with a bow, fiercely owning the red carpet. In the caption of the post it read, "here's a picture of my dress at the award show where we are apparently assaulting people on stage now," which is in obvious reference to Will Smith's actions that night.

Kravitz then took to Instagram, posting a picture of herself flawlessly rocking an immaculate white gown. The caption wittingly read, "and here is a picture of my dress at the party after the award show -where we are apparently screaming profanities and assaulting people on stage now." While this response was clearly a jovial quip, Will Smith fans from around the world instantly sprang into action. And, much like Will Smith slapping Chris Rock in the face at the Oscars, the actions they are taking are...weird.

People are taking comments that Kravits has made about Will Smith's son Jaden Smith in an attempt to paint her as a sexual predator. In this video from 2014 she, clearly joking, refers to Jaden as her date to the Divergent premiere.  Others on Twitter have posted excerpts from other interviews in which Kravitz has talked about Jaden Smith.

Twitter Error

The most notable part of this entire exchange is that it has proven how powerfully fickle the internet is: one moment praising someone, the next painting them as a predator.

The lightening speed with which the internet operates is wild. One Twitter user used a picture of Zendaya, looking distressed in a still from Euphoria, with a comically scripted dialogue about the break-neck speed in which this has all happened.

The temperament of the internet is aggressively changeable and seldom waits until all of the facts are in place. It is important that the world not jump to conclusions.
