Will Smith's future was questioned after his assault against Chris Rock emerged.

Smith immediately lost everything after slapping Rock on the stage of the 2022 Oscars. Although he was able to keep his Best Actor award, he ultimately resigned from the Academy while all of his projects halted their productions.

While it possibly indicates that Smith's future is now over, Whoopi Goldberg shared her thoughts and said that the actor's future remains intact.

During Monday's episode of "The View", the 66-year-old host said that the "King Richard" actor would surely bounce back from the controversy in the next few months. She compared Smith to Kanye West and Louis C.K. who were honored during the Grammy Awards.

"Some people found that controversial, but the show didn't have anything like last week's controversy, which is fine. Also some of Will Smith's future projects are in question. The question is, does he have a path back? Yes, of course, he does. ... He'll be fine, he'll be back. No worries," she explained.

Previously, Goldberg sided with the actor since "he was the victim," but she also explained that Oscars producers made the right decision in not escorting him from the show. She recalled how it was not the first time the public ever saw someone assaulting somebody on stage.

Academy To Proceed With Disciplinary Proceedings

Goldberg commented on the matter after the Academy of Motion Picture Arts, and Sciences confirmed that Smith passed his resignation.

"We will continue to move forward with our disciplinary proceedings against Mr. Smith for violations of the Academy's Standards of Conduct, in advance of our next scheduled board meeting on April 18," resident of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences David Rubin told PEOPLE.

Meanwhile, the actor also said he would accept the consequences of his "shocking, painful, and inexcusable" conduct. Despite his resignation, the Academy would still push through the disciplinary proceedings to determine the actor's future with them.

Smith's next projects, "Bad Boys 4" and "Fast and Loose," got affected by the assault. The Hollywood Reporter first reported that Sony halted the production of the upcoming installment of the "Bad Boys" franchise. A statement obtained by CBR confirmed that there would be a pause "as things play out."

Meanwhile, Netflix ultimately decided to keep the upcoming movie out of the spotlight.
