The Percy Jackson and the Olympians show coming to Disney+ has just announced the names of the two of the main actors that will head the project.

Fans of the original Rick Riordan series have been waiting with bated breath for the new television show based on the books to come to Disney+. The production team has been in the thick of the casting process for some time, scouring the globe for the perfect Camp Half-Blood campers to helm the series.

Young talent Walker Scobell was recently announced to take on the leading role of Percy Jackson. Now, the casting of his two best friends and adventure companions has also been announced.

Leah Jeffries will take on the role of Annabeth, the brilliantly smart and spunky daughter of Athena. She adds a very Hermione Granger-esque combination of brains and bravery to their group, but without as much of her hemming and hawing about the rules.

Grover, meanwhile, will be played by Cheaper By the Dozen'Aryan Simhadri. Grover is a satyr - meaning, for all those who didn't spend most of grade school geeking out about Greek mythology, that he is a half human, half goat. He disguises himself as a twelve year old boy in order to help Percy survive.

The series is being co-written by Rick Riordan and The Old Man'Jon Steinberg - and we are glad to know that this adaptation is in good hands. For so many, the Percy Jackson book series served as a world after Harry Potter. We connected over Camp Half-Blood and longed to go on quests of epic proportions in our real lives.

It is thrilling to see these stories moving on into a new generation - we can't wait to see how the new actors will do in their respective roles.
