Today is legend Fred Astaire's birthday, and the internet is celebrating.

Fred Astaire is remembered for being an excellent performer, and one of the most beautiful dancers to ever have kick-ball-changed his way through life. While the internet has its good days and its bad days (as we all do), today everyone is pouring forth wonderful memories and iconic moments in the dancer's illustrious and memorable career.

He can be seen gliding along the stage with his well known and similarly celebrated talent Ginger Rogers through fluid moments of excellent dance.

These performers are rightfully remembered for their prowess because of the perfect precision of their movements, steps that must have taken hours upon hours of rehearsal time, while making it seem effortless, weightless, and fun.

Anyone who says that humans can't fly clearly has not seen Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers take the stage.

Even with the seeming perfection of the dances, perfection was never the phenom's goal. He is known to have wisely expressed:

"The higher up you go, the more mistakes you are allowed. Right at the top, if you make enough of them, it's considered to be your style,"

And similarly:

"I have no desire to prove anything by dancing. I just put my feet in the air and move them around."

Obviously Astaire is known for dancing, but, quite frankly, his inspirational quotes are on par with Plato.

He worked incredibly hard to make his movements look effortless. He once explained:

"I suppose I made it look easy, but gee whiz, did I work and worry."

It was a pursuit of passion for him. As one Twitter user shared, Astaire once expressed, "I don't make love by kissing. I make love by dancing."

Fred Astaire's legacy lives on. In fact, Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland will be playing the role of the famed dancer in a biopic about his life.

We cannot wait to see Astaire get his story told to all and get the modern day recognition that he deserves. Happy Birthday!
