The legal battle between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard in a Virginia courtroom has everyone talking.

The "Pirates of the Caribbean" star's defamation case against his ex-wife will begin in court on Monday, May 16.

It will decide who will be held accountable for millions of dollars, perhaps $50 or $100 million, after Depp claimed Heard defamed him in an op-ed for the Washington Post in 2018.

In the post, Heard claimed to be a survivor of sexual and domestic assault. However, she did not specifically reference Depp in her op-ed.

Following many weeks of first-hand evidence from Depp and Heard, as well as friends, family members, psychologists, employees, and specialists, this week will see even more witnesses take the stand to recollect their accounts of the former couple's relationship.

Debbie Depp, Depp's sister, is one of the witnesses. This will be his second sibling to testify as a character witness, following Christi Dembrowski's testimony last month.

In her evidence, Dembrowski stated that they suffered abuse at the hands of their late mother, Betty Sue Palmer; however, she also stated that Depp never touched her.

Ellen Barkin, the actor's former lover, is also on the stand to testify. However, after being invited to testify in Depp's 2020 libel claim against The Sun, the actress may not be vouching for Depp's excellent character.

During the trial in which Depp sued the journal for labeling him a wife-beater, Barkin said that Depp once flung a bottle of wine across a room during an altercation, which Depp disputed.

He argued that the "Sea of Love" actress fabricated her story because she still carried a grudge against him, and that he just desired a casual connection with her rather than a committed one.

In addition, Amber Heard's sister, Whitney Henriquez, will testify on her sister's side.

Johnny Depp will also take the stand once more.
