Is Amber Heard the inspiration for the new Snapchat filter?

In the midst of her and Johnny Depp's ongoing defamation battle, social media is buzzing with accusations that the app's new sobbing face filter was inspired by the "Aquaman" actor.

Since the hearing began on April 11, it has quickly become the buzz of the town since it is being aired live for everyone to watch.

Millions of people across the world are witnessing and recording their conversation, which includes alarming allegations and surprising discoveries about the former couple's marriage, as well as charges of domestic violence.

On the other side, social media appears to have taken a lighthearted approach to Depp and Heard's courtroom drama, particularly at the expense of the latter.

There has been suspicion that the new filter was inspired by Amber Heard.

"Snapchat has excelled themselves with the Amber Heard filter," one Twitter user stated. "I'm sorry, sobbing filter."

"Snapchat created the sobbing filter to make fun of Amber Heard's bad acting."

Snapchat Dispels Amber Heard Crying Face Filter

Unfortunately for ecstatic followers, Snapchat denied the idea in a response to TMZ.

They informed the site that there is "absolutely no truth" to reports that the filter was inspired by Amber Heard, who has been sobbing without tears throughout her testimony against Johnny Depp.

The business also stated that the concept of the filter being inspired by the actress does not "logistically" make sense.

According to TMZ, the filter had been in the works for six months before the testing began.

Snapchat responded by declaring it would "never play coy with a Domestic Violence case."

Rumors began to circulate that the film was inspired by Heard's heartbreaking testimony in the ongoing defamation action filed against the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor.

Last week, Heard sobbed in court, prompting die-hard Depp admirers to accuse her of "fake tears" and being a "poor actor."
