Michael K. Williams' nephew still feels the trauma he first felt when he found his uncle's lifeless body last year.

Hollywood was left shocked after reports about Williams' death emerged in September 2021. Months after his tragic death, his nephew Dominic Dupont looked back on a heartbreaking day and detailed what happened when he found Williams dead.

In an exclusive clip for the upcoming episode of "Red Table Talk," Dupont told Jada Pinkett Smith about the trauma he felt after seeing Williams.

Per the actor's nephew, he was shopping with his wife when he remembered that his uncle had some work to accomplish the next day. While he tried contacting him, he purportedly did not hear anything from him.

"We made the decision to go to his house and I went upstairs, opened up his door, and it was quiet - Michael always played music - that wasn't the case," he said, as quoted by People.

He called Williams when he arrived at the actor's home but received no response. Instead, he eventually found the actor's body, prompting him to call 911. The person on the line asked him if he wanted to start compressions. But at that moment, he seemingly knew that he was already gone.

What Happened to Michael K. Williams?

Law enforcement sources confirmed to multiple news outlets that the first responders found him in his Brooklyn penthouse on Monday afternoon.

The 54-year-old actor was reportedly discovered unconscious in the dining room of his pad. The authorities suspected that Michael K. Williams' cause of death was a drug overdose after finding heroin on the kitchen table.

They also clarified that no foul play was involved. There is no sign of forced entry since the apartment was in order when they arrived.

A representative of the late actor later divulged Williams' death in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

"It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of Emmy nominated actor Michael Kenneth Williams," spokesperson Marianna Shafran said. "They ask for your privacy while grieving this unsurmountable loss."

Following his death, U.S. Attorney Damian Williams and New York City Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell released a report confirming that four men were arrested. They are believed  to be members of the drug distribution crew who gave Williams fentanyl-laced heroin.

The Guardian noted that one of the men, Irvin Cartagena, was the one who sold the deadly substance to "The Wire" actor.
