We missed this Bridgerton Easter egg, and we are MAD at ourselves.

We here at Enstarz are proud members of the Ton - that is, the Bridgerton fandom. (Should you like more proof on that, you should check out our podcast Whisteldown, Pinkies Up.) We watch the show closely. We analyze it. We talk through every piece of it. It's our literal job: As far as the world of Whistledown goes, we know what's up.

Well, at least we thought we did.

It came to light yesterday that the stars of season three of the hit Regency Era romance will be Colin Bridgerton, played by Luke Newton, and Penelope Featherington, played by Nicola Coughlan. This is the show's most major diversion from the book series by Julia Quinn - because, if you follow the order set by the novels, the third story is that of Benedict Bridgerton - played by Luke Thompson on the show - not Colin. This was news to the world.

BUT APPARENTLY, IT SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN.

On Twitter today, one user pointed out a MAJOR Easter egg hidden in season two of the show.

While Colin was playing Pall Mall with his siblings, when they arch was labeled with the roman numeral for THREE, he knocks Benedict's ball out of the way, threading his own through the wicket first. Now, he is set to be the star of SEASON THREE, having usurped his elder brother in much the same way.

Whoever called this, congratulations on being brilliantly correct.

Furthermore: If they are right about that, other members of the Ton have ventured to conjecture that other hints may be included in the scene as well. For example, Eloise hit the ball under a small arch with the Roman numeral for five.

So, can we expect to see Colin, Benedict, and then Eloise? It could definitely be possible.

We will continue to keep you up to date on all things Bridgerton and do our best to be better about the Easter egg hunting on our own!
