Tim Burton is trying his hand at bringing a new generation of Addams Family fans into the fray with his new series Wednesday, based on a teenage version of the creepy daughter of the Addams' brood.

Netflix and the Wednesday Addams Twitter have released a short teaser trailer to entice viewers ahead of their Geeked Week Event, which takes place in a few days.

In the trailer, with the header "Enjoy this marketing ploy," the family's disembodied helper, Thing, now held together with black stitches, moves around the shot in a rough attempt at sign language, complete with subtitles that read:

"HEED MY WARNING. A GRAVE TERROR APPROACHES. HER NAME IS..."

With that, Thing crawls off-screen and drags a title card into the frame which simply reads, "WEDNESDAY."

The full trailer for the series will be released on June 6th, during the 2nd Annual Geeked Week - where Netflix lets viewers in on the first looks and future projects they have in store. Besides some poster art and casting, all we know of the series is that it stars Jenna Ortega as a Wednesday as she navigates high school, solves a family mystery, and develops psychic abilities.

The show will co-star Luiz Guzman as Gomez Addams, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Riki Lindhome, Gwendoline Christie, Thora Birch, and Christina Ricci. After the success of the two films from the 1990s, it will be interesting to see what the macabre mind of Tim Burton will do with this beloved property.

There is no release date at this time for Wednesday, but Enstarz will keep you posted when it is announced.
