Rebecca Balding, a veteran stage and screen actress, died. She was 73.

Balding's husband, actor-director James L. Conway, first confirmed the news to Deadline. He revealed that the actress died on July 18 in Park City, Utah.

The same statement disclosed Rebecca Balding's cause of death, saying that he passed away following a battle with ovarian cancer.

Caroline Williams, Balding's cousin, also confirmed the news on Twitter.

"My cousin, Rebecca Balding, has passed away in Salt Lake City. While we were not close in adulthood, she was a profound influence on my curiosity about show business and acting. #TheBoogens was where she met her delightful husband @jameslconway. Mother, wife, actress. Did it all," she said.

According to the American Cancer Society, ovarian cancer was previously believed to begin only in the ovaries. But recent studies found out that it could also start in the cells at the far end of the fallopian tubes. It can also start in three cells in the ovaries - epithelial tumors, germ cell tumors, and stromal tumors.

It remains unknown when exactly she was diagnosed with the dreaded illness. Balding's family also has not confirmed details about her funeral.

Following the release of the news, fans remembered the actress's legacy and sent messages of condolences to the bereaved family.

One shared a photo of her alongside the caption, "R.I.P Rebecca Balding. My condolences to her family and friends. Elise will always have a place in our hearts! #Charmed #RebeccaBalding."

Rebecca Balding's Life Revisited

Balding pursued an acting career after studying at the University of Kansas. She initially began her journey as an actress on stage in Chicago before moving to Hollywood.

From there, she scored several television series roles. But among the titles, she was best known for her role in "Soap." From 1977 to 1979, she became part of the first two seasons of the daytime dramas by playing Carol David's character.

Balding also appeared in the original "Charmed" series from 1998 to 2006.

Among her other projects include "Makin' It," "Lou Grant," " The Gathering," "Deadly Game," "Melrose Place," "Home Improvement," "The Bionic Woman," "Starsky and Hutch," "Family Ties," and "Matt Houston Cagney & Lacey," to name a few.

In the horror scene, Balding famously joined the cast members of "Silent Scream" and "The Boogens." Before her death, she was still able to appear in 2005 "Yesterday's Dreams."
