Lori Anne Loughlin was born in Queens, New York, on July 28, 1964. She was born into a Christian family of Irish heritage in Hauppauge, New York, where she was raised. Joseph Roy Loughlin is her father, and Lorellee Loughlin is her mother. Her father was employed by the 'New York Telephone Company,' while her mother was a housewife.

She attended Oaks Public Elementary School and Hauppauge High School in Hauppauge, New York. She was captivated by acting from childhood, and at the age of eleven she became a print model. Her father let her to pursue a career in modeling on the condition that she maintain outstanding grades in school and never change her outlook on life. Before she was jailed for her involvement in the college admissions scandal, the actress chose to celebrate her 56th birthday privately. It is unknown how she will spend it this year now that she has completed her sentence.

Lori Loughlin's return to Hollywood has been gradual since her release from prison in 2020 following the college admissions scandal. Loughlin hadn't made any public appearances or given interviews until quite recently, despite the fact that she's been working as an actor again. The actress made her first post-scandal television appearance to promote a cause near and dear to her. In her first interview in quite some time, the veteran of Full House and Hallmark grew emotional when discussing healing. 

The star of "When the Heart Calls" made an unannounced appearance in a telethon for the Los Angeles-based food bank and charity Project Angel Food.

Loughlin was one of several celebrities, including Eric McCormack of Will & Grace, attempting to raise funds for the group. She participated in a KTLA film in which she discussed her involvement with the nonprofit organization and its home delivery service. 

After experiencing personal adversity, Loughlin appears to have found fulfillment in assisting the less poor, a bright point following the college admissions controversy. Volunteering appeared to be a positive after the college incident. For the former Full House cast member, providing food to the needy was about building relationships and spending time with them.
