Alec Baldwin received another damaging accusation amid the "Rust" shooting investigation.

The family of the fallen U.S. Marine Rylee J. McCollum filed a lawsuit against Baldwin for the second time following last year's defamation case. This time, they accused the actor of being "negligent and reckless after he shared that McCollum's sister was at a protest last year.

According to Fox News, McCollum's survivors - Roice McCollum, Cheyenne McCollum, and widow Jiennah McCollum - launched the new case on Friday. They are now asking for $25 million in damages as the "Rust" actor called the late Marines an "insurrectionist."

The incident caused Baldwin's fans to slam McCollum and abuse him verbally.

"While she was present at the [January 6th] demonstration, Roice did not take part in, nor did she support or condone the rioting that erupted. Baldwin plainly ignored Roice's denial of rioting and the assertion that she was cleared by the FBI for participating in any of the conduct Baldwin chose to falsely attribute to her via his massive following," the lawsuit reads, per CNN.

The then-20-year-old McCollum was one of the 13 US service members who died during the August 26 bombing outside the Abbey Gate of Hamid Karzai International Airport. They were assisting the evacuees at that time for them to leave Afghanistan to ensure the people's safety amid the Taliban attack.

They were killed following the Biden administration's chaotic withdrawal from the country.

Baldwin's new legal battle started when he commented on a photo of her at the Washington Monument on her Instagram page. The actor then said that McCollum's family was being insurrectionists.

Roice eventually clarified that she only attended a demonstration supporting President Donald Trump. There were also reports revealing that she was not involved in the riots.

Alec Baldwin's "Rust" Shooting

The new case came out as Baldwin continues to deal with the investigation into the "Rust" shooting incident.

The FBI recently revealed that Baldwin pulled the trigger and hit cinematographer Halyna Hutchins since there was no way the gun would fire on its own. With that, the actor truly pulled the trigger.

To be exact, the FBI forensic report said that the .45 Colt (.45 Long Colt) caliber F.lli Pietta single-action revolver used in the shooting would need to be pulled before it could fire a bullet.

Baldwin maintained his innocence and told Chris Cuomo on his podcast "The Chris Cuomo Project" that he did not pull the trigger. He added that, instead of pressing him, the authorities should look for the person who put a live round in the gun.
