The United Kingdom and the rest of the world are still mourning the death of Queen Elizabeth II, but there are new generations who would like to get to know the monarch better by watching documentaries and series like "The Crown."

The hit Netflix series, which first aired in November 2016, has been a center of controversy in the past as many people are wondering whether the show portrays the royal family authentically and accurately from what happened in real life.

The show revolves around the true events that happened to members of the royal family from Queen Elizabeth's crowning in the 50s until her life in recent decades.

After the longest-reigning monarch passed away last week, Samba TV found out through an analysis that the Queen's death heavily impacted the show's viewership.

According to the report published by Collider, viewership in the United Kingdom spiked more than a whopping 600% from Friday to Sunday last week (September 9 to 11). The recent numbers are higher than the previous weeks.

The outlet noted that France also had many viewers of the show based on TV Time, a tracking app by Whip Media.

'The Crown' Stops Filming After Queen Elizabeth's Death

In an interview with Deadline, writer Peter Morgan said the award-winning Netflix show will temporarily stop filming the sixth season "out of respect" for the Queen's death.

The man behind the stories of the show said "The Crown" is a love letter to Her Majesty and he wanted to give her "silence and respect" amid her passing.

Morgan didn't give further comments about the tragic death of the leader.

The outlet noted that the show was scheduled to start filming this fall. After the cancelation of production, it's still unclear when they're going back to shooting again.

The series has covered the Queen's life from when she was a young adult until her elder years. Throughout the seasons, she was portrayed by numerous actresses like Clarie Foy, Olivia Coleman, and Imelda Staunton.

The streaming giant previously confirmed that season six will feature new characters like Meg Bellamy as Kate Middleton and many more.

Queen Elizabeth II died last week at her Scottish estate of Balmoral. She was 96 years old.

Considered the longest-reigning monarch, Her Majesty served as the head of various nations for 70 years. She celebrated her Platinum Jubilee in June.

Her eldest son is now her successor making him King Charles III.
