Selena Gomez bares her soul in the trailer of her upcoming documentary, "Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me."

Apple finally presented Gomez's upcoming documentary on the platform. The Apple Original Films documentary, "Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me," explores the singer's struggles with mental health.

She asks in the new clip, "How do I learn how to breathe my own breath again?" before the story about her life with lupus and bipolar disorder is shown.

"Madonna: Truth or Dare" director Alek Keshishian directed and produced the flick, and they released the trailer to mark World Mental Health Day.

"After years in the limelight, Selena Gomez achieves unimaginable stardom. But just as she reaches a new peak, an unexpected turn pulls her into darkness. This uniquely raw and intimate documentary spans her six-year journey into a new light," the description says, per Deadline.

It serves as Gomez's latest project to spread mental health awareness. Last year, she also launched the mental health platform, Wondermind. The project allows people to connect with others to end the stigma surrounding illnesses.

The "Lose You To Love Me" singer spoke about having bipolar disorder through Miley Cyrus' quarantine online show, "Bright Minded: Live With Miley." Although it was worrying at first, her attending doctor reportedly helped her to overcome negative feelings by explaining her mental health status.

She also suffered lupus which worsened her anxiety and depression. Per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the disease affects any organ in one's body, causing symptoms like fever, rashes, hair loss, light sensitivity, and joint pain.

Gomez also underwent kidney transplant due to the complications caused by auto-immune disease.

Selena Gomez Focusing on Well-Being

In 2018, she told Harper's Bazaar that she would spend her time healing herself and improving her well-being. One of the first steps she took was checking herself into a treatment facility in New York City to receive treatments for anxiety and depression for two weeks.

Gomez, however, said that it might be a battle she had to deal with for the rest of her life. Still, her decision to put herself first helped her overcome everything she went through so far.
