The new action comedy film "Freelance" starring Alison Brie and John Cena received a 0% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes, adding it to the film and television review website's list of worst movies of all time.

"Freelance" follows the story of a retired special forces operator (John Cena) who will take a job providing security for a journalist (Alison Brie) as she interviews the president of Paldonia (Juan Pablo Raba). A military coup will break out in the middle of an interview and the three will escape into the jungle together.

The film, which started showing in cinemas on Oct. 27, was helmed by the director of the action-thriller movies "Taken" and "Peppermint."

On Rotten Tomatoes, "Freelance" garnered 24 critic reviews with 0% Tomatometer score. Most of the reviewers criticized the film for its allegedly terrible script and unexciting action scenes, among others.

"'Freelance' is an utter disaster that I can't believe John Cena and Alison Brie agreed to be a part of," said Travis Hopson of Punch Drunk Critics.

"'Freelance' is an incredibly goofy jumble of tones, flailing about as it overstays its welcome. There's no need to hire this contractor," a top critic, Katie Walsh of Tribue News Service, commented.

"This lifeless, generic, confusing, unfunny mess is so glaringly out of touch with reality that it makes your head hurt," wrote Jeffrey M. Anderson of Common Sense Media.

"Cena and Brie appear as bored as they must have been doing the same stunts, making the same jokes, and being expected to carry material like this," stated Mark Dujsik of Mark Reviews Movies, explaining the 0.5 score he gave the movie.

"'Freelance' is an eyesore of horrendous digital effects, features uninspired action and wastes the few big names in its cast," said Matt Donato of IGN Movies.

"John Cena deserves better. And so do we," top critic Barry Hertz of Globe and Mall stated.

Despite its negative reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, "Freelance" is still playing in theaters in different parts of the globe.
