Hunter Schafer has been named by a number of "Zelda" fans as their choice to play the title role in the upcoming live-action "Legend of Zelda" movie, and the "Euphoria" star is open to it.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the London premiere of "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes," Schafer revealed that she has seen the social media posts of fans eager for her to take on the role of the princess.

When asked about playing Zelda in the upcoming film, she expressed enthusiasm, stating, "That would be so cool. I love the game, personally. I played it as a kid, and I still play it now. Who knows! That would be pretty cool."

This isn't the first time Schafer has hinted at her interest in portraying Princess Zelda.

In a previous interview with ET, she remarked, "I mean yeah, that would be cool. I played that video game a bunch when I was a kid. That's such a good game."

"Legend of Zelda" fans have pointed out the visual similarities between Schafer and Zelda's design from "Twilight Princess," even noting the actress' elf-like ears.

"The 1 and ONLY option for Zelda in the new movie is [H]unter [S]chafer!!!" one fan tweeted alongside a photo of Schafer and an image of the video game character.

"There's only one answer for [P]rincess [Z]elda, and that's [H]unter [S]chafer," another fan wrote

The live-action adaptation of "The Legend of Zelda" was announced Tuesday by Nintendo game developer Shigeru Miyamoto via X, formerly Twitter.

He opened up about his involvement in the project, writing: "I have been working on the live-action film of 'The Legend of Zelda' for many years now with Avi Arad-san, who has produced many mega-hit films. I have asked Avi-san to produce this film with me, and we have now officially started the development of the film with Nintendo itself heavily involved in the production. It will take time until its completion, but I hope you look forward to seeing it."

Director Wes Ball, known for "Maze Runner," is set to helm the adaptation, with Derek Connolly, the screenwriter of "Jurassic World," writing the screenplay.

Meanwhile, fans can watch Schafer next in "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes," in which she plays Tigris Snow.

The film, which also stars Rachel Zegler, Tom Blyth, Josh Andrés Rivera, Peter Dinklage, Jason Schwartzman and Viola Davis, hits theaters on Nov. 17.
