Meghan Markle was allegedly offended when Queen Elizabeth assigned a Black man as her equerry when she joined the royal family.

Royal biographer and commentator Omid Scobie suggested in his recent book "Endgame" that the late Queen's decision to assign a Black man to Markle didn't sit well with the latter. She allegedly felt insulted that the previous monarch chose a man of color to make her feel comfortable in the palace.

"When Palace aides told reporters, including myself, they 'bent over backwards' to make Meghan feel comfortable at Buckingham Palace, this included a follow-up suggestion that perhaps the Queen's Ghanaian-born household cavalry officer Lieutenant Colonel Nana Kofi Twumasi-Ankrah should be the one to help Meghan," Scobie wrote, per The Sun. "Though a charming and intelligent man, it stood out like a sore thumb to Meghan and her friends."

Meanwhile, royal expert and biographer Ingrid Seward told The Sun that if Scobie's account was right, Markle was offered Lady Susan Hussey, but she reportedly turned her down, so the Queen offered the Ghanaian-born equerry.

"I don't know who she thought should be helping her, but presumably not an equerry or a lady-in-waiting," Seward added.

Omid's claim in his controversial book about Markle's alleged reaction after the Queen assigned her a Black equerry sparked racist allegations against the Duchess of Sussex.

"Now we know that the racist was Meghan Markle. Who would get insulted by the highest ranking Queen's equerry just because he was [B]lack[?] Also, her obsession with race. #MeghanMarkleIsARacist," one commented on X, formerly Twitter. Another added, "Meghan Markle is a racist."

"Of course, she complained about having someone [B]lack assigned to her. 90% of her friends are white, 90% of the people [who] work for her are white, and she herself identifies as white. Thank you for confirming who the true racist is though," a third person opined.

This wasn't the first time the Duchess of Sussex was accused of being a racist after "Endgame" brought back the race row, claiming that there were two royals who raised concerns about Archie's skin color.

Several called her out and accused her of being a racist for allegedly changing her appearance. Another pointed out that she hadn't dated a Black man before marriage.

"#MeghanMarkle is a #Grifter #Liar and honed in on the most broken royal there could be, if anyone's a racist, it's her. She's never dated Black, never married Black and never f--k Black. Kate will be queen, and Markle will always [be] a deal or no deal girl! lol," stated one netizen.

However, some also defended Markle over the comparison between her and Middleton, who was accused in the book as one of the alleged racist royals alongside King Charles. "Lol. Praising the racist, gaslighting the victim as per usual," a netizen wrote.

Scobie denied naming the alleged racist royals in his manuscript after their identities leaked in the Dutch version of the book. The author blamed it on a translation error. However, the translator, Saskia Peeters, fired back, saying the names were mentioned in the manuscript, and she didn't add them.
