Bryan Tanaka broke his silence about his relationship with Mariah Carey on social media.

There had been rumors that Tanaka and Carey had already parted ways. The dancer and choreographer confirmed their split in a post on Instagram Tuesday addressed to his friends and fans.

"With mixed emotions, I share this personal update regarding my amicable separation from Mariah Carey after seven extraordinary years together," he wrote. "Our decision to embark on different paths is mutual, and as we navigate these separate journeys, we do so with profound respect and [an] overwhelming sense of gratitude for the invaluable time we've shared. The memories we've created and the artistic collaborations are etched in my heart forever."

Tanaka acknowledged Carey's dedication to her family and even expressed his appreciation for the singer and her "incredible children." He ended his message by asking fans for "understanding, privacy and respect."

Carey and Tanaka's fans quickly reacted to his post, with many expressing their support for the choreographer. Several also praised him for being a good partner to the "All I Want for Christmas Is You" songstress.

"Bryan, as a lamb, I'm here to tell you that we're so grateful for your support towards Mariah, and we will always love you. Thank you for being such an incredible person to her. We'll always love you, and we hope you both recover from this," one of Carey's fans wrote.

"I have a lot of love & respect for you, Tanaka! You've always shown Mariah the utmost respect. All love," another added. A third person who supported the exes' decision to split wrote, "I wish you and Mariah all the best. This is your decision guys, and no one else's business."

"Whatever happens, I know you guys really loved and respected each other. Wishing you all the best for 2024," a fourth person wrote with a red heart emoji.

Meanwhile, another netizen seemingly disapproved of Tanaka's decision to talk about the issue publicly. Nevertheless, the netizen still wished both the best.

"I mean, we all knew they broke up, he hasn't been around in a minute. I wish they did it quielty [sic] instead of releasing a statement, but I wish both Mariah and Bryan the best," the online user commented.

The celebrity couple first sparked breakup rumors when he wasn't spotted at her "Merry Christmas One and All!" tour, which recently wrapped up. Another insider also told People Carey was enjoying the holidays in Aspen sans Tanaka even though the duo usually spent Christmas together.

The former couple first connected in 2006 when Tanaka joined her "Adventures of Mimi" tour. It took 10 years before their relationship became romantic.
