BTS' Jin, J-Hope Military Discharge Dates: Most Important Days For ARMYs In 2024

There will be no more sad "This is BigHit Music" Weverse announcements coming for ARMYs -- BTS fans -- this 2024 because the BTS members will be discharged from their mandatory military service one by one, starting this year.

BTS' eldest member, Jin, will be the first to get discharged after serving eighteen months in the South Korean military. He will reportedly return on June 12, after enlisting on Dec. 13, 2022.

He will be followed by his bandmate J-Hope, who began his military service on April 18, 2023. His discharge from the military is scheduled for Oct. 17.

Meanwhile, ARMYs rang in the new year with J-Hope's letter and Jin's monthly message.

A part of J-Hope's heartwarming hand-written letter read, "I sincerely hope that 2024 will be filled with only happiness. Don't get sick. Let's be happy. I love you!"

On Dec. 31, the "Jack In The Box" artist also posted an update on Weverse and recounted how 2023 was for him. As he ended his letter, he left a birthday greeting for his bandmate V, who celebrated his 28th birthday a day before.

On the other hand, Jin told ARMYs to enjoy the snow, make a snowman, do snowball fights and other snow-related activities and go back to being kids.

"Every time you go skiing, please think about me. Don't catch a cold. It'll really be cold in January," he said.

Jin also shared how he missed ARMYs so much and told them to wait a few more months until he gets discharged.

The "Worldwide Handsome" idol also requested ARMYs to make a snowman that looks like him and post their creations on Weverse. 

In June 2023, Jin wrote a heartwarming letter via Weverse and made a promise to ARMYs that he would meet them via Weverse Live after his discharge.

"I'll go to the company and see you through Weverse Live instead of going home as soon as I'm discharged," he promised.

He added, "Of course, it's early, so I can stay home and come back, but I won't make any plans. I'll be with you on the 11th anniversary."

The other members of BTS, RM, V, Jungkook and Jimin, who began their military service last December 2023, are expected to be discharged by June 2025.

As early as now, ARMYs are expecting a BTS reunion on the group's 12th debut anniversary.
