Prince William reportedly wants to make it up to his wife, Kate Middleton, on her birthday.

The Prince and Princess of Wales have been married for over a decade. However, the heir to the throne hasn't forgotten his promise to his in-laws, Michael and Carole Middleton, that he would take care and protect their daughter. Prince William reportedly wants to spoil his wife after Omid Scobie attacked her in his book "Endgame."

"William will spoil her rotten this year because it's been a really tough time for her. William feels guilty and angry because he promised Kate's parents that he would protect and look after her," said Jennie Bond, English journalist and former royal correspondent for the BBC for 14 years, GB News reported.

"The attacks from Omid Scobie were vicious, so William will feel guilty because all she's done is fall in love with someone who happened to be a future King. There's obviously a lot of baggage that comes with this -- it's a unique and different life which you've got to have a very thick skin for."

Middleton will turn 42 on Jan. 9. As for what the royal father of three plans to do, the "Elizabeth: A Celebration in Photographs of Elizabeth II's Life & Reign" author speculated that he would show his romantic side to his wife, probably surprise the duchess with a breakfast in bed.

Bond believes the couple will spend the day with their children since it will be the last day of their Christmas holiday before the kids return to school. Bond also claimed a "candle-lit champagne dinner will be on the cards."

An unnamed source told Entertainment Tonight that Prince William was "absolutely furious" when Scobie's book was published, especially after its Danish version leaked the names of his father, King Charles, and wife, Middleton, as the alleged racist royals. The book was pulled from the shelves in the Netherlands shortly after its release.

Prince Harry's biographer, Angela Levin, had previously said that Prince William was very protective of his wife. The Prince of Wales also didn't like it when Prince Harry and Markle dragged Middleton in their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The former actress told Winfrey that the reports about her making the Princess of Wales cry were not true because "the reverse happened," implying that it was Middleton who made her cry.

"I don't think William would ever forgive Harry because he feels very protective of his wife, and he is shocked at their rudeness about the Queen. So I think you can't really repair that," Levin said about the relationship of the royal siblings, Express reported.
