Meghan Markle skipped Prince Harry's Living of Legends Aviation award last week after one of their kids got sick, but she joined her husband for a date night in Jamaica this week.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a surprise appearance at the "Bob Marley: One Love" premiere at the Carib 5 Theater in Kingston, Jamaica, Tuesday night. The royal couple held hands when they graced the red carpet, with Markle looking stunning in her black spaghetti-strap top and black ball gown skirt. Meanwhile, Prince Harry looked dapper in his blue suit and white button-down.

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, Andrew Holness, Juliet Holness and Olivia Grange attend the Premiere of “Bob Marley: One Love” at the Carib 5 Theatre on January 23, 2024 in Kingston, Jamaica.

However, the former "Suits" star's presence at the event raised several eyebrows because last week, she missed her husband's awards ceremony after one of their children got sick, People reported. The netizens wondered what happened to the child since both were present at the premiere event in Jamaica.

"You fly for 10 hours from LA to Jamaica for a date night at the movies? And what about the sick kid?? Rapid recovery obvs!" one asked.

"What happened to the sick kids???" another wrote.

Some mockingly responded by reviving the speculations that the Sussexes' children -- Archie, 4, and Liilbet, 2 -- were not real.

"What kids?" one asked. Another replied, "Dolls do well when you put them back in their boxes."

"They were handed back to their parents," a fifth person opined.

Several were quick to defend the royal couple. According to them, the stories that Markle missed Prince Harry's award last week due to a sick child were not from the royal couple.

"Did they release a statement about a sick child? No," one wrote.

"Don't believe everything you read in the media. Harry and Meghan nor their official spokesperson never said their children were sick," a second Sussex supporter added.

"Kids do recover quickly," a third person said. Another echoed the same sentiment, writing, "Kids recover quickly. Especially when they're little."

"That was last week, Friday night; they're obviously better now, 4 days later! Thankfully, the most common fevers & bugs, etc, that little ones pick up are usually very short-lived. Even nastier ones like stomach flu only generally last 24 hours," a fifth person explained.

An unnamed insider spoke to Entertainment Tonight and claimed that the Sussexes were a huge fan of Marley's music and message. They also reportedly have a personal friendship with the late musician's family, the Robbins, who invited them to the event.

"They were delighted to attend," the source told ET.
