Donald Trump Presidential Makeover: Melania's Husband Will Look Better By Changing Wardrobe, Style Mag Suggests
Donald Trump has gained millions of fans and critics over the years, but a style magazine pointed out there was still room for improvement regarding his appearance.
Trump's fashion seemingly didn't make a good impression on GQ's style editors, who felt that his "comically large red tie" rivaled his "baggy pants." They also criticized the ex-POTUS' "bad haircut" and wardrobe. However, according to them, Trump could try a "few easy fixes" to look better.
In a clip uploaded on YouTube in 2017, the magazine pointed out several problems with the way Trump dressed up, including his baggy suit, wrinkled pants, giant tie and uneven shirt cuffs. It also slammed Trump's alleged bronzer overload and "ridiculous" hairstyle.
While the piece was published almost seven years ago, a lot of things have remained the same -- Trump's fashion and that he's running for presidency.
To address his baggy pants, the magazine suggested slimmer and tapered pants as they are more flattering and help avoid wrinkles. They also recommended Trump button up his jacket and make sure it is tailored to his shoulder for a more flattering look. However, he should only button the top part.
Melania Trump's husband should also pay attention to his cuffs and ensure they are even. Additionally, the magazine suggested that Trump swap his giant ties for skinnier ones, even recommending a brown tie for a blue suit because they are a winning combination. He should also add a tie bar and a tonal pocket square.
The editors also didn't hide their disapproval of Trump's messy hair and even recommended a hairstyle that would reportedly suit the businessman-turned-politician best.
They also advised that Trump tone down his bronzer for a more natural look. The clip ended with a side by side before and after pictures of Trump with the recommended presidential makeover.
Many approved of the fashion magazine's recommendations. However, some didn't like the political shade included in the last seconds of the video.
"[A]lmost unrecognizable! AMAZING WORK," one commented on the clip. Another added, "Ok, GQ, you could have left out the final 10 seconds, but the rest of the wardrobe upgrade is spot on!"
"Everything was good about this video until 1:21," a third person wrote.
While Trump's fashion seemingly didn't impress many, his wife, Melania, previously worked as a fashion model in Milan and Paris before she moved to New York City in 1996. She started her modeling career when she was just 16. The former first lady recently graced Paris Match's cover.
Melania lost her mother, Amalija Knavs, earlier this month. In a past speech, she credited her sense of style to her late mom.
"My elegant and hard-working mother Amalija introduced me to fashion and beauty," the former model said.
Melania doubled down on praising her mom's fashion in her eulogy as she recounted their "unbreakable bond" and how Amalija was a "true beacon of love and luxury" in their lives.
"With her beauty and impeccable sense of style, she turned the heads of many. But it's not just her appearance that set her apart, it's her unwavering dedication and hard work that truly made her exceptional," Melania said of her mom.
