A new "Suits" spinoff has been given a pilot order.

According to Variety, a new spinoff of the legal drama television series created and written by Aaron Korsh recently landed a pilot order at NBC Universal.

Production for "Suits: LA" is scheduled to commence in late March in Vancouver.

The spinoff will follow the story of Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York who has reinvented himself by representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles.

Per the project's logline, Ted's firm is at a crisis point where he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career to survive.

"Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can't help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved," read the logline, per Variety.

Korsh will serve as the writer and executive producer of "Suits: LA," alongside David Bartis, Doug Liman and Gene Klein, who worked with him on the original show.

Meanwhile, none of the original actors -- Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Gina Torres, Sarah Rafferty, Meghan Markle and Rick Hoffman -- will appear in the pilot, per Deadline.

However, actor Patrick J. Adams has reportedly shown interest in reprising the role of Michael "Mike" Ross.

"Suits: LA" will follow the short-lived "Suits" first spinoff, "Pearson."

"Pearson" followed the story of Jessica Pearson as she became a fixer for Chicago's newly elected mayor, Bobby Novak (Morgan Spector), diving into the complex dynamics of family and political power struggles.

The spinoff chronicled Jessica's "journey in this unfamiliar role while showcasing her ultimate struggle between her reasons for becoming a lawyer and her father's warning about her motivation."

Unlike "Suits," "Pearson" was canceled after just one season on its original network and did not get much attention on other platforms.

Meanwhile, the original series ran for nine seasons from 2011 to 2019 on USA Network.

"Suits" recently regained popularity after its first eight seasons were added to Netflix.

The Duchess of Sussex previously starred in the series as Rachel Elizabeth Zane, a senior paralegal at Pearson Hardman who later becomes an associate at Pearson Specter Litt.
