Ashley Tisdale is officially off the market and wearing a shiny new engagement ring on her left hand.

The actress tweeted on Aug. 8, "Best night of my life. We're on top of the world," after tweeting a photo of a rose and sunflower on the ground.

Tisdale's boyfriend musician boyfriend Christopher French proposed on the 103rd floor of the Empire State Building in New York City on Thursday, Us Weekly reported yesterday.

"He had been planing on it for awhile. I think she knew it was coming but she is so happy," a source said about the engagement.

Tisdale, 28, and her fiancé were caught strolling through NYC the next day arm-in-arm. Tisdale wore a black tank, cuffed jeans and a statement necklace. But most importantly the High School Musical star had on two platinum bands on her ring finger. (See photos.)

The actress tweeted that day, "Excited to run around and have a shopping day in nyc!! Woo hoo."

The couple met through mutual friends.

"She likes those rocker types," a source told the publication.

Tisdale dated Step Up Revolution director Scott Speer until 2011 and also dated Boys Like Girls musician Martin Johnson.

French and Tisdale first went public with their relationship in 2012 when they were spotted at an Apple store in Los Angeles.

Some of Tisdale's most recent projects include lending her voice to the cartoon Sabrina: Secrets of a Teenage Witch and filming Left Behind, a movie about a group of people trying to survive the aftermath of a Rapture.
