Kate Middleton's doctored Mother's Day photo with her kids may have been originally taken in November 2023 but is being passed off as a recent picture, a wild new TikTok theory has claimed.

While Kensington Palace said the portrait was taken last week, TikTok user Allyn Aston said she suspected that the image or "some version" of it was captured last fall because of the outfits of the Princess of Wales and her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

"There is ample evidence of bad Photoshop throughout this photo, and it is my personal opinion that it is because it is old and they try to change the outfits so that it didn't look like a match," Aston captioned a now-viral video posted Monday. It has since been reposted on X, formerly Twitter.

In the video, the TikTok user claimed there were similarities between the clothing the four royals wore in the new portrait and the outfits they were seen sporting at a charity event for a local baby clothes bank, a video of which was released in December 2023. Aston suggested that it may have been filmed in November last year.

Enstarz could not independently verify when exactly the video was filmed. People reported in December last year that Middleton's kids joined her in an "under-the-radar volunteer session" and helped her and volunteers sort clothes and toys for children and families in need at the Baby Bank in Maidenhead, Berkshire.

The video showed Middleton wearing a cream-colored turtleneck sweater, dark skinny jeans, and boots while volunteering at the Baby Bank.

Aston said she looked up the brand of Middleton's sweater on royal fashion blogs and found that the top's neckline and ribbing allegedly matched those of the navy sweater the princess wore in her Mother's Day picture.

"Yes, I know a lot of turtlenecks look the same, but I do believe that this was Photoshopped to be darker, and it was just that cream sweater because they don't make it in another color. They make it in cream and in camel," Aston suggested.

The TikTok user also claimed that Middleton appeared to be wearing the same boots in both the new photo and the November outing.

Aston went on to point out that Princess Charlotte's red sweater in the Mother's Day portrait, which featured a ruffled collar, looked identical to her top in the Baby Bank video.

She also claimed that the young princess appeared to be wearing the same shoes and tights as well.

Aston acknowledged that Princess Charlotte's skirt was different in the new picture, but she pointed out that it was "one the most glaring Photoshop issues in this photo" and suggested the skirt may have been superimposed on the portrait during editing.

She zoomed in on Princess Charlotte's skirt in the Mother's Day photo, noting that it "juts out" at an unnatural angle. She also pointed out that the young royal's sleeve appeared to have been erased above the skirt.

While only a small part of Prince George's outfit can be seen in the new photo as he's standing behind his mother, Aston suggested that the pattern on his collar was similar to that of his shirt during the November charity outing.

Aston speculated that he wore the same shirt in both instances, but it had been edited to look darker in the new photo.

"I'm kinda thinking they took this photo the day of that event back in November when they filmed it. It didn't see the light of day until December, but I think they filmed it in November. But of course, they're not going to release a picture that's supposed to be brand new with them all in the same outfits from a publicized event, so they just kind of tinkered a little bit," Aston suggested.

In a follow-up video, Aston said other TikTok users had pointed out to her that the white bracelet Princess Charlotte wore in the Mother's Day photo appeared to be a match to the one she wore last fall.

Another alleged similarity TikTok users noticed was Prince Louis' checkered button-down shirt.

Middleton released the photo taken by Prince William of her with her children Sunday to mark Mother's Day in the U.K.

It marked her first official public sighting since undergoing planned abdominal surgery in mid-January and followed numerous conspiracy theories regarding Princess Kate's health and whereabouts.

However, just hours after its release, the Associated Press issued a "kill notification" for the photo, citing alleged manipulation by the source.

A statement was then posted on the Prince and Princess of Wales' account on X, with Middleton apologizing for "editing" the image and causing "confusion."

The new debacle only fueled the conspiracy theories surrounding Middleton, with many on social media now asking, "Where is Kate?"
