Melania Trump allegedly believes she does not need to "stand by" her husband Donald Trump as Dr. Jill Biden does with President Joe Biden, the former first lady's ex-top aide has claimed.

Melania's absence from her husband's ongoing reelection campaign has sparked various speculations, including rumors that they may be heading for divorce.

However, her former chief of staff Stephanie Grisham claimed that Melania has a different approach from other first ladies and allegedly mocked Dr. Biden by saying she's "holding ... up" her husband -- who, at 81, has faced concerns regarding his mental sharpness and physical health

"Melania has said, 'I don't need to stand by Donald like Jill Biden; it is like she's holding Joe Biden up,'" Grisham told CNN.

"She is very much not going to do the Hillary Clinton 'stand by your man' thing," the former White House press secretary added.

Melania seemingly teased a potential return to the campaign trail when she cast her ballot in the Florida presidential primary alongside Donald in March.

Asked by a reporter if she has plans to appear in future campaign events, the former first lady responded, "Stay tuned."

Despite this, an unnamed source close to the Trump campaign told CNN that Melania is still deciding "how much or how little she will be campaigning."

"She'll definitely have a role, but in terms of what that is, I don't know," the campaign insider said.

Another unnamed source close to the former president explained to the news outlet that Melania "is very selective and methodical in what she wants to do and how she presents herself."

"She is very decisive with these things and knows they have a lot of intended and unintended consequences," the second source added.

While it's still unclear if she'll have a ramped-up role in her husband's campaign, Melania has been accompanying Donald to glitzy events and parties at their Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, in recent months.

Over the weekend, Melania and Donald attended his lawyer Alina Habba's 40th birthday bash at the private club, Page Six reported.

Photos shared by "Real Housewives of New Jersey" alum Siggy Flicker on Instagram showed Habba and her husband Gregg Reuben posing alongside the former president and his wife at the celebration.

Melania wore a sleeveless black gown, while Donald donned a blue suit and striped tie for the party.

Donald's sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump also attended the bash with their respective partners, Kimberly Guilfoyle and Lara Trump, unnamed sources told Page Six.
