She clarified that she started using Ozempic only after achieving some weight loss success. Wilson, 44, credited the weekly injections for helping her maintain her new body shape, which she described as "still curvy and solid."

Despite the benefits she experienced, the 'Pitch Perfect' actress mentioned that she is no longer using Ozempic, emphasizing her evolving approach to health and well-being.

The injectable drug Ozempic gained U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval in 2017 for diabetes treatment. In 2021, another medication featuring Ozempic as its primary ingredient emerged, targeting obesity, named Wegovy. Despite gaining public attention after mentions by Elon Musk, Oprah Winfrey, Tracy Morgan, and Amy Schumer, Wegovy lacks FDA approval for obesity treatment.

Ozempic, a weekly injection, is typically administered in the stomach, thigh, or arm. It contains semaglutide and is prescribed for type 2 diabetes. The recommended dosage ranges from 0.25 mg to 2 mg per week, but for weight loss purposes, it can vary from 0.25 mg to 2.4 mg weekly.

Semaglutide in Ozempic imitates the hormone glucagon-like peptide-1 found in the intestine. Increased levels of this hormone signal the brain to induce a feeling of fullness, slow down digestion, and delay stomach emptying, leading to quicker satiety.

The Australian actress' memoir, 'Rebel Rising,' follows "Rebel from her Aussie upbringing as the daughter of parents who sold pet products at dog shows, to making millions as LA's favourite funny girl, always questioning "Am I good enough?", "Will I ever find love?" and "Will I ever change and become healthy?"

According to the memoir's description, Wilson "writes for the first time about the most personal and important moments in her life - from fertility issues, weight gain and loss to sexuality, overcoming shyness and dealing with rejection... This brave and honest memoir shows us how to love ourselves while always remembering the value of laughing."

'Rebel Rising' will be released on April 25, 2024.
