Born Orenthal James Simpson, famously known as O.J. Simpson, was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He announced the news in February, per reports from Local News 10 in Miami.

Simpson had already started chemotherapy in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The New York Post spotted the Hall of Famer looking extremely frail in November 2023. He was reportedly limping through the streets of Las Vegas and was seen hunched over after stepping out of a black SUV.

Simpson addressed speculation surrounding his health in a video on Twitter, now known as X, saying, "all is well." He revealed he would host friends for Super Bowl LVIII in Sin City. He closed by wishing football fans a good Super Bowl weekend.

"Hospice? Hospice?! You talkin' about hospice," he laughed.

He continued: "No, I'm not in any hospice, I don't know who put that out there but whoever put that out there I guess it's like the Donald [Trump] say, 'Can't trust the media!' "

In what became the "Trial of the Century," Simpson became notoriously known for the murder trial involving the death of his wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman.

Although he was acquitted in 1995 of the double murder, he was found liable for their deaths, and was ordered to pay $33.5 million to the victim's families in a California civil case.
