Angelina Jolie 'Fears for Life,' Weighs Leaving US After Charlie Kirk Assassination

Angelina Jolie reportedly believes leaving the United States is no longer optional but essential.
"Leaving the U.S. is no longer a choice for her – it is a necessity," a source told Radar Online, adding that the actress feels the freedoms she once defended are "collapsing before her eyes."
The 50-year-old star has increased her personal security and is preparing to relocate permanently, according to the outlet. Friends say her decision came after the September 10 assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, which she reportedly viewed as a turning point.
The source added that Jolie is scared that she could be attacked because of her outspoken views and that has already hired some more security guards while she wraps up her departure plans.
The comments she made at the San Sebastian Film Festival while promoting her new film "Couture" elicited rapid responses from the Trump administration and right-wing commentators.
"I love my country, but I don't at this time recognize my country," she said, according to PEOPLE, warning that threats to free expression are "very dangerous."

Administration officials dismissed her concerns as "hysteria," according to Radar, and criticized late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, who was briefly suspended after comments tying Kirk's killing to political exploitation.
Hollywood on Edge
Jolie is not the only star taking precautions. More than 400 public figures, including Robert De Niro, Meryl Streep, and Olivia Rodrigo, signed an open letter condemning Kimmel's suspension as "unconstitutional and un-American."
Taylor Swift also adjusted her own security measures in the wake of Kirk's murder.
In a viral video on X, the pop star avoided her usual public walk into Arrowhead Stadium for fiancé Travis Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs home game, instead moving behind a seven-foot black wall that followed her through the stadium corridor.
Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro announced during an interview with The Free Press that he will no longer speak at outdoor venues, citing "too many overlooks" that pose risks to speakers.
"We're going to pick up that blood-stained microphone where Charlie left it."
