From director Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart) comes a gritty drama about family loyality, circumstance and justice starting Christian Bale in the lead role.

Out of the Furnace tells the tale of Russell Baze (Bale). He works a dead-end blue collar job at the local steel mill by day and cares for his terminally ill father by night. When Russell's brother Rodney (Casey Affleck) returns home from serving time in Iraq, he gets lured into one of the most ruthless crime rings in the Northeast but then mysteriously disappears after declaring to step away from the life of crime. The police fail to crack the case of his disappearance and so - with nothing left to lose - Russell takes matters into his own hands. He puts his life on the line to seek justice for his brother.

Out of the Furnace boasts an all-star cast featuring Woody Harrelson, Forest Whitaker, Willem Dafoe, Zoë Saldana and Sam Shepard. The film will be released through Relativity Media on Dec. 6

The film's trailer shows the relationship between the two brothers and Rodney feeling betrayed for the service he has done to his country. Russell tells him get a job, saying, "there's nothing wrong with working for a living." Rodney replies by yelling, "Working for a living? I gave my life for this country and what's it done for me?"

The trailer includes the text "to find the truth, enter the fire."

The film's producers are Leonardo DiCaprio, Ridley Scott, Jennifer Davisson Killoran, Ryan Kavanaug and Michael Costigan.
