Chris Pine closed a deal to play a tyrannous boss in Horrible Bosses 2, the sequel to the 2011 workplace comedy by Seth Gordon.

Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day, Jason Bateman will be reprising their roles as the oppressed employees Kurt Buckman, Dale Arbus, and Nick Hendricks, respectively. Jamie Foxx will also be returning in his role as "murder consultant" Dean Jones,

Christoph Waltz was initially set to star alongside Pine -- they would play a father-son duo who steal the idea for an invention that one of the main character's came up with -- but Waltz passed on the offer, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Sean Anders and John Morris, who recently scripted We're the Millers, will be directing Horrible Bosses 2. The script is being penned by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, who wrote the first film as well. Brett Ratner and Jay Stern are producing, with John Cheng and John Rickard executive producing.

The film studio developing the sequel, New Line, is still looking for actors to play the other "horrible bosses" in the film.

The bosses were played by Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Aniston, and Colin Farrell in the first film, in which the three friends (Kurt, Dale and Nick) conspired to murder them.

Pine is also starring in Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit as a CIA agent. The film will release on Dec. 25. Most recently Pine was seen in the Star Trek Into Darkness.

Horrible Bosses 2 will release in theaters Nov. 26, 2014.
