Actor Adam Driver (Girls) is not the frontrunner to play Nightwing in Man of Steel 2 a.k.a. Batman vs. Superman, as had previously been reported.

Driver was originally reported to be the frontrunner to play Dick Grayson/Nightwing (formerly Robin) in Man of Steel 2 by TheWrap in early November. The Girls actor recently told Collider that the report was not true.

"No, not as far as I know," he said when asked if the report was true. "No, there's no truth to it. I don't know whoever put it on there. I don't know how these things get [started] -- I don't know how it first came about."

Other actors rumored to be playing Nightwing include Penn Badgley (Gossip Girl) and Ezra Miller (The Perks of Being a Wallflower). However, considering Driver's comments, it's possible that none of the actors have been approached to play Batman's former sidekick.

Henry Cavill is returning to the role of Superman/Clark Kent after his debut in this summer's Man of Steel. Ben Affleck has signed on to play Batman/Bruce Wayne, who will face off in "physical conflicts" with Superman throughout the movie.

Other actors already signed on to the project include Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White and Diane Lane as Martha Kent. Important characters like Nightwing, Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor and The Flash are rumored to be in the film but have not yet been cast.
