Shailene Woodley and Theo James share a kiss in a new clip for the movie Divergent.

The clip, revealed on Dec. 20, shows Beatrice Prior (Woodley) and her trainer, Four (James), in an intimate embrace, precluding their eventual turn as lovers in the film.

In the clip, Beatrice and Four are seen talking to each other. After Beatrice asks Four what his tattoo stands for, he takes off his shirt revealing his inked back, which features all the factions.

"Why do you have all of them [factions]?" Beatrice asks.

"I don't want to be just one thing, I can't be," he says. "I want to be brave and I want to be selfless, intelligent, and honest and kind, I am still working on kind."

It is at this point that Four leans in for a kiss and Beatrice responds.

In a recent interview with Buzzsugar, the director of the film, Neil Burger, was asked why he cast Ware in the role of Four. Burger said that while he did want someone strong who could intimidate Woodley in the role, he also felt that the two actors shared a "natural chemistry."

"They - Shailene and Theo - have a real natural chemistry, which you hope for. They really cared for each other and amused each other and were turned on by each other, actually," he said.

The sci-fi action film is Summit Entertainment's next big young adult franchise. The film is based on Veronica Roth's novel of the same name and is the first in a trilogy.

Set in a futuristic Chicago, the story centers around Beatrice and the challenges she faces in order to belong to a certain faction (Dauntless) in this new-age society.

In addition to Dauntless (the brace), there are four other factions in this society: Abnegation (the selfless), Amity (the peaceful), Candor (the honest) and Erudite (the intelligent).

In this society, 16-year-olds must take an aptitude test which decides what faction fits them best, and afterwards they are forced to decide whether to remain with their families, or transfer to new factions. Beatrice chose to fight in order to belong in Dauntless.

It is while she fights that she meets Four.

The film also stars Miles Teller as Peter, another 16-year-old being initiated into the same faction as Beatrice, and Kate Winslet as the antagonistic leader of the Erudite faction.

The film is scheduled for release on March 21, 2014.
