Empire magazine has released a series of photos dedicated to the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past, including a revealing Jennifer Lawrence and many other characters.

One of Empire's new covers features Lawrence in her role of Mystique, the scaly, blue-skinned shapeshifting mutant. The cover shows Lawrence in a full body shot, showing off a look similar to Rebecca Romijn's in the original X-Men film trilogy.

Star Hugh Jackman, who will reprise his role as Wolverine in X-Men: Days of Future Past, tweeted a photo of the cover on his Twitter account, praising Lawrence in the process.

"#Empire25 cover!" he tweeted. "Cunning, swift & unrestrained, here's Mystique, played by the incredible Jen Lawrence. #XMen."

One Empire cover features the character Quicksilver (Evan Peters), the son of Magneto who will be making his debut film appearance in the movie. Another cover has Toad (Evan Jonigkeit) looking like he is preparing for battle.

The cover many X-Men fans are buzzing about is the first look at the Sentinels, the robots from the X-Men comics who have been programmed to hunt and kill mutants. Check out more of Empire magazine's X-Men: Days of Future Past covers here.

X-Men: Days of Future Past features the present-day X-Men going back in time to join up with their past selves in order to save their species and change the future for the better.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is scheduled for release in theaters on May 23.
