Justin Bieber Deported: Petition to Have ‘All That Matters’ Singer Removed From U.S. Surpasses 100K, White House Will Respond [NEWS]
A petition to have 19-year-old pop star Justin Bieber deported from the U.S. has officially surpassed the required 100,000 signature mark, and will now be taken under consideration by White House officials.
The petition, set up on the We The People section of the White House website Jan. 23, has garnered over 188,000 signatures from U.S. citizens who wish to see the Canadian pop star kicked out of the country after his recent legal troubles.
Thousands Call for Justin Bieber's Deportation in White House Petition
"We petition the Obama Administration to Deport Justin Bieber and revoke his green card. We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented in the world of pop culture. We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing, Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked. He is not only threatening the safety of our people be he is also a terrible influence on out nations youth. We the people would like to remove Justin Bieber from our society," the petition reads.
The petition was created the same day Bieber was arrested for a drag racing incident in Miami Beach, Fla.
The singer, who is also facing assault charges in his home country for a December attack on a Toronto limo driver, has yet to be charged with a felony in the U.S. His charges from the Miami DUI and drag racing incident are all considered misdemeanors, and he has yet to receive charges in California for an incident where he egged a neighbor's house.
That case however could result in felony charges, making Bieber a candidate for deportation. The pop star has refused to become a U.S. citizen in the past, citing a corrupt American healthcare system, and is only in the U.S. on a work visa. According to federal law, only violent crimes and sentences longer than a year can result in the re-evaluation of a person's visa status.
It is unclear how long of a sentence the pop star could receive if he is charged and convicted in the felony incident.
However, White House spokesperson Jen Psaki did say that while action wouldn't necessarily be taken, the petition "will be reviewed by the administration and we will issue a response."
The deportation of the pop star likely does not rank highly on President Obama's agenda, as he is currently trying to implement actions he promised in his annual State of the Union address Tuesday, Jan. 28.

Among issues the President is tackling are increasing the minimum wage, retirement savings, unemployment, environmental issues, tax reform and universal pre-k.
However, the president did also say that he wanted to work on immigration reform as well during the address, saying "It is time to heed the call of business leaders, labor leaders, faith leaders, law enforcement-and fix our broken immigration system."
